We will play medieval host to a workmate of mine and her friend.... uhm.. yeah... to show him the town of Bamberg from its medieval side. It was hard for me to choose a path, since Bamberg has sooo much to offer from that time period...but i found a nice way that can be extended and cut as we go along, with archaeological tidbits as well as architectural information and some legend and story telling as well. Hope they like it.
Wir werden mittelalterliche Gastgeber für eine Arbeitskollegin von mir und ihren Freund aus fernen Landen spielen... uhm.. ja... um ihm die Stadt Bamberg von ihrer mittelalterlichen Seite zu zeigen. Es war schwierig für mich, einen Weg auszusuchen, weil Bamberg so viel aus dieser Zeit zu bieten hat... aber ich habe einen netten kleinen Weg ausgesucht, den man kürzen und verlängern kann, auch wenn man schon unterwegs ist, mit archäologischen Kleinigkeiten und Infos aus der mittelalterlichen Architektur, komplett mit ein, zwei Sagen und Legenden. Hoffentlich gefällts.

Eggolsheim - 666 years market rights
Well our first view weekends are behind us, and we just got home. So a little bit of time to relax and recap.Two weeks ago, we went to Eggolsheim. A wonderful town run market to celebrate the 666th anniversary of awarding market rights to the city. The market had many interesting salesmen and craftsmen and even my favorite cows - scotch highland cattle!!! So cuddly!!!! We also enjoyed being able to rest at the campsite of our good friends "The black Eagle...

Today we went to the Historical Museum here in town. It had a special section on pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela and I was also able to catch a climpse of some local medieval pottery. It was a great day and in addition to all the exhibits, including "Life on the River Regnitz" the building of the museum itself was impressive. It used to be part of the castle of emperor Henry and his wife Kunigunde during the 11th century.

We had a great weekend in Adventon near Osterburken, a medieval village where we met new and old friends, spent time in the camps and the tavern and just enjoyed the great weather!

So, soon it will be time again to put on our garb, I am working on prepping the summer garb, still lots to sew. Gotta be quicker.....
So, jetzt ist es bald soweit, Zeit unsere Gewandung überzuschmeißen. Ich arbeite an unserer Sommergewandung, noch so viel zu tun. Muss schneller werden....
